NASA successfully completed a test of the world's largest solid rocket motor yesterday in Utah. Within 2-minutes, "the motor, designed to provide up to 3.6 million pounds of thrust, roaringly fired a column of flame, while some 760 instruments monitored its every aspect." Video after the break.
Before the motor was fired, the engineers chilled it to 40 degrees below zero, for additional stress testing. It reportedly passed every test. The motor is intended to be used in the heavy-lift rocket segment of the Constellation program that NASA has slated for 2015.
According to Treyarch community manager Josh Olin, in addition to "a full multiplayer reveal on September 1, there will be 'one more thing' to come, along with a co-op mode reveal before the game's release on November 9." We'll definitely have the trailer for you when it's released. For now, continue reading for the teaser video released last month.
"To be completely honest, I think that the players are going to be very, very shocked when we reveal our stuff," he told DS. "I don't think they're going to expect this out of Treyarch, because we just haven't had the time or resources to do something like this. If you look at the size of any other studio that works on two-year development cycle on a first-person shooter, and compare that to Treyarch, we are a Goliath.
At $2.99, this Inflatable Toast isn't high-tech nor tasty, but it's quite popular with Amazon customers. User Timothy says: "For those occasional laundry day mishaps, when you forget that you have a piece of toast in your pocket... and let's face it, who hasn't been there? I found that this product holds up far better than real toast in this situation." Product page. Here's what Joanna has to say:
If you are going the low-carb lifestyle, you know that all you get is one slim slice of toast per week. This toast is inflatable, and it's made of vinyl, so it isn't even digestible by the human digestive apparatus, meaning you get a big slice and it won't throw off your ketogenesis.
Sure, you can't wear the slick Dr. Martens USB drive above, but with the technology available now days, you can turn just about anything into a functional gadget. Click here to see forty-two more cool USB gadgets.
New EPA MPG Stickers - May Be Simple as A, B, C »»
